Membership
The general body of AIHN must be comprised of at least two thirds of practicing Industrial Hygienists both within and outside Nigeria.
Membership of AIHN is open to those with interest in health hazard management and a healthy working environment. Membership provides a wide range of benefits, including capacity building, opportunities for professional development and networking.
The members will be required to maintain ethical practice, be involved in professional development and pay annual dues.
Categories of Membership
Certified Members: Members who are currently practicing Industrial hygiene and certified or licensed under a certification scheme recognized by the National Accreditation Recognition (NAR) of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA).
Professional members: Members who are currently practicing Industrial hygiene or similar fields in Health, Safety & Environment who have at least one formal training in Industrial Hygiene from a recognized institution.
Associate Members: Members of other professions who are interested in the field of industrial hygiene and activities of AIHN.
Student Members: Members who are in University or college studying a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based course.
Note:
- Candidates who wish to apply for membership will be required to complete an application form for review and approval by NEC, submit proof of education and experience.
- Certified members and Professional members will be required to take applicable admission examination or be exempted from examination based on credentials presented. They shall participate in a defined professional development program and submit relevant documentation annually.
